Multi-Room Video
This project utilises Crestron Digital Media for distribution of full HD video over both CAT6a and multi-mode fibre.
The Digital Media switcher allows us to support simultaneous distribution of dolby digital surround sound and downmixed stereo; as well as giving the utmost reliability, immensly fast switching, and distributed control via CEC.
Multi-Room Music
18 zones of audio are driven by a Crestron Sonnex multi-room system. There are a few in-wall speakers fitted to bathrooms, but otherwise this project used entirely concealed hi-fi speakers instead of ceiling speakers.
Sonnex provides much higher power outputs than most multi-room systems, both affording better quality due to increased headroom, but also better suiting the large rooms in this project.
Cinema
We designed and worked with the main contractors to build a dedicated cinema room with full acoustic treatment.
This features a Sim 2 Nero 2 projector firing onto a 3m wide Screen Innovations acoustically transparent screen, ISF calibrated by Matrix Home Cinema.
The sound system comprises Artcoustic Spitfire series speakers in a 7.1 configuration, driven by an Anthem MRX-710 receiver with Anthem Room Correction.
Seating is by Cineak and was made to spec to match the fabrics chosen for the wall coverings by the interior designer.
Infrastructure and Control
The systems are all controlled by a Crestron CP3 3-series processor, which interfaces to RTI T2x touchscreen remote controls and a selection of Crestron touchscreens.
The client was keen to future proof the building as much as possible, so a comprehensive data network in CAT6 was installed and certified. Wi-fi is a Ruckus ZoneFlex system comprising 10 access points.
Central equipment is mounted in 3x 40 space Middle Atlantic equipment racks, housed in an air-conditioned comms room with raised access flooring.
